Our Philosophy
Established in 2003, the COMO Foundation supports non-profit grassroots organisations that work directly in development, education and healthcare for women and girls. Our goal is to help them support themselves.
By focusing on women, we believe progress passes among families to improve their futures. At the same time, we encourage a strong sense of community through local ownership, peer support, mentoring and collective decision-making.
The Foundation supports innovative projects that serve an unmet need of women and girls. Education, skills or capacity development and income generation are our key objectives.
The job of bridging the income and opportunity gaps for these women is enormous, and the Foundation does not work alone. The Foundation provides grants to local organisations and links them to specialised competencies found within the COMO Group, such as fashion, retail, marketing and design. The Foundation also collaborates with other philanthropic organisations that share our goals.
